Coroner’s Inquest into Richard Hoare’s death complete

Richard Hoare

Four and a half years after his murder, a coroner’s inquest makes a stunning decision in the murder of Richard Hoare who was executed on the night of August first, 2007 in Belize City. No one will be charged for the murder of Richard Hoare.   That’s the conclusion of three jurors today at the end of an all day coroner’s inquest.  The three member jury began deliberations at two o’clock this afternoon and within an hour they emerged with a decision. Because of insufficient evidence the murder case will not proceed to trial and so no one will be charged. The murder at the time was seen as a deliberate hit on a young and successful businessman who had inherited Baymen Cable Network from his parents Arthur Nigel Hoare and his wife Marie Louise Hoare. Hoare also had substantive investments in the tourism.

Hoare was behind the driver seat was his vehicle when he was shot. The effect was that his vehicle ran into a parked vehicle on Vasquez Avenue. There were many theories as to who ordered the hit and it was generally believed that he was lured to his death by two persons who were seen fleeing from the scene. Hoare had sold his cable company the day before he was killed; he was heading to Ladyville where his common-law lived. Here’s a repeat of that story.

Wow, then can some one explain how the hole in his head got there from the bullet

  2. Eye In The Sky says:

Hoare had sold his cable company the day before he was killed.
    Was he also paid?
Or did the entity who purchased his cable company do the hit to avoid payment?

  3. Bzean Beat says:

Someone got paid to do that. If there’s a bullet hole, isn’t it obvious that someone wanted the guy dead?

  4. BeReal says:

Good point, Eye in the sky.

  5. family member says:

I wonder if it had anything to do with” what goes around comes around” or ‘sins of the parent falls upon the child” ??? im just saying….

  6. Be Real says:

Sad that this man was killed and his murder remains unsolved. His business associates must now something.

@ BeReal…stop stealing the name I use to comment. That is wrong and immature.

This is a disgrace – and only shows the level of corruption in Belize, from those that hired the gunmen, the incompetent police, and the government/judicial system that protects all those involved. It is a disgrace that a crime so brutal will be left “unsolved” – it is not unsolved. Those responsible are known – just protected.

@family member – what are you “just saying”?

  9. Keisha Usher says:

Thank you to the citizens of Belize for continuing to question the logic of this decision and the pseudo “investigation” that was allegedly conducted.
