Poll says people want early elections

On Monday night we showed you the results of a poll commissioned by Karim Berges with the expertise of Yasmine Andrews. While the stats showed that there is a very slim margin of victory between the U.D.P. and P.U.P., the two hundred and twenty three persons surveyed say they favor early elections, but after the March seventh municipal elections. There are other telling details on the results of that poll. Andrews has the breakdown.

“Would you like the General Elections to be called early?” That was another major question we asked and then we split it into the following three: “If you want the General Elections to be called early; meaning not the full term, okay?” Again sixty-one point four percent said yes they want a general election early for whichever reasons; we did not extrapolate on the reasons as yet; and No thirty-eight point six percent. “If you want it early, would you like it on the same day?” So we gave three options, “would you like it on the same day?” The answer there was No, the majority seventy-three point one percent. They do not want the election the same day as the Municipal. Again, “Do you want it after the Municipal?” The majority said yes, sixty-seven point three percent.”
