Romolgo Garcia rearrested and charged for maim of Hattieville resident

Romolgo Garcia

Guatemalan canero, Romolgo Garcia was told on Monday that he was a free man when the charges of maim and use of deadly means of harm were withdrawn because there was no case file. Garcia’s freedom was short-lived and soon enough, he was rearrested and charged. Today, the Guatemalan cane farmer headed back to court before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers, who explained to Garcia that although the charges were dismissed on Monday, the police say that they now have a case file. No plea was taken from Garcia and he was unable to meet bail and has been further remanded at the Belize Central Prison.   The charges are in connection with a chopping incident that took place on April first of this year. Garcia and Herrera were involved in an altercation between miles thirteen and fourteen in Hattieville when Garcia chopped Herrera on the right hand and severed four of his fingers with a machete. Garcia’s case was adjourned until January fifth of 2012.
