GSU says complainer was not telling the truth

An enraged Dangriga resident called News Five last Wednesday to report that the Gang Suppression Unit had broken into his house, ransacked the place and that two electronics had gone missing. Timothy August claimed that his neighbor told him that he saw two Toyota Hilux pickups with GSU officers at his house. Well, the GSU is disputing those claims and say that while they were conducting operations in Dangriga Town, August’s house was not a target and was never searched. An investigation was launched and according the GSU, they interviewed his neighbor, who denied that he saw the GSU and said he never told August anything. Security guards working in the vicinity, also gave statements, saying that August was the one who told them that GSU had been to his house. The GSU further reports that August was confronted and he claimed that a police officer tipped him off about the search at his house. That, however, is not credible, according to the GSU, because the target list is not shared with persons outside the Unit. August has since been arrested and charged for Committing a Mischievous Act for making the false report.
Tim boy why such a foolish claim? Support the GSU and let’s get rid of these problems in Belize!
Are you a drug dealer? Why else would you make such a false claim? Perhaps the GSU should pay you a visit. There comes a time when a man must step up and be accountable for his actions. When will that be Tim?

I hear this man went to court on the above charges and he won the case because he had witnesses who testified that GSU did search his house!
