Astar Hyde Supermarket robbed at gunpoint

Aside from the robbery at Farm Center today, on Monday night the owners of another well known establishment, Astar Hyde Supermarket, were also targeted by thieves. When we caught up with them today, both Alvin Hyde Junior and his wife, Angela, were shaken and frustrated. The couple was planning to lock up early when around seven-thirty a single gunman entered the store while a second person waited outside. Angela was alone at the cash register and her husband was in the back of the store when the thief pulled a gun on her. In a candid interview, she told News Five today that her daughter had just exited the store when the robber entered.

Afterwards, I get di money and I di give di guy den he stretch ova like ih mi think more money deh or whatever. When ih stretch ova, ih seh give me yoh phone and ih snatch di phone.”

So when I si di guy cross di counter, I come out but I come out empty handed so when I get dis side and I holla hey you mother f-ing you know, the guy spin round and she tell me hey di guy got wah gun and he hold di gun pan me. So when ih hold di gun pan me I come to wah stop. When I come to di stop, he back out ah ih sippers deh, jump pan ih bicycle and run. By dis time ih done get wah amount a cash.”
