Shooting leaves city teen in hospital

Story PictureThree days into the New Year and still not a single murder … but it’s not for lack of trying. Sometime around seven last night, a lone gunman on a bike shot eighteen year old Enrique Alvarez as he stood in a yard at the corner of Curl Thompson and Man-o-war Streets in the Port Loyola area. The gunman struck from close range as he encountered Alvarez just yards away from his home. The shots caught him in the right side of the abdomen and left leg, leaving him critically wounded. The incident has left the victim’s young cousin, Michael Bevans, stunned, as he had just come up from Dangriga to spend New Year’s with Alvarez.
