7 of 20 bullets hit murdered man

Edward Lord

The notorious Edward Lord lived a dangerous life; and on Wednesday evening shortly after five o’clock, he was executed in a most horrific way.  A hail of bullets from a high powered weapon, possibly an Uzi or an AK-forty-seven, was unleashed at him on Mahogany Street and by the time he got to the hospital, he was dead. Lord, who was twice accused of murder, including the killing of George “Juni Balls” McKenzie, the dreaded gang leader, was constantly under threat, but who got him this time? News Five’s Jose Sanchez has a report on the latest homicide in the City.

Jose Sanchez, Reporting

Edward Lord was gunned down in front of Brick City Barber Shop on Mahogany Street at 5:25 pm on Wednesday. According to the police, Lord was walking along with two male friends when a man armed with a machine gun sprayed at least twenty bullets, seven of which caught the upper part of his body.

Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer

“Edward Lord, no stranger to the news, was shot around 5:25 p.m. on yesterday’s date—that’s the twenty-ninth of June—he was on Mahogany Street somewhere in the vicinity of Flamboyant Street along with two other persons when a lone gunman approached them and opened fire on them with a high powered rifle. Mister Lord received seven gunshot wounds to both his upper and lower part of his body. He was transported to the KHMH where he succumbed to his injuries.”

Fitzroy Yearwood

In June of 2010, two gunmen fired upon a home on Lavender Street in which they believed Edward was visiting. Instead they shot and killed Collin Lord in a case of mistaken identity. And before that, Lord was implicated and consequently freed in the murder of George ‘Junie Balls’ McKenzie in 2007.

Jose Sanchez

“Is this murder, as far as your investigations show, the result of a retaliation for a recent murder or is it something that goes way back to previous charges when he alleged was charged for ‘Junie Balls’?

Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood

“Well, I wouldn’t put this on the Junie Ball’s murder, but we have to pay attention to the obvious fact. He was a suspect in that murder; he was acquitted—actually he was charged and acquitted by the Court for that murder. But Jose, we would really have to find this person that actually executed this murder so that we can find out what’s the motive behind it. We believe it was a semi automatic rifle. The expended shells on the scene would suggest that, but we will still wait until our ballistics expert has done his examination and based on the results we can tell you more or less what caliber of weapon was used on that scene.”

Jose Sanchez

“Because Mister Lord was so well known to the law, do you think there would be an escalation at least between the rival gangs?”

Collin Lord

Sergeant Fitzroy Yearwood

“Well Jose, with these recent murders, we expect everything and we try our best to prepare in the event that there would be a retaliation as such in reference to these kinds of crime. We at the police department will do our necessary preparations—we will step up our patrols and we will do our ground work. Our intelligence officers will be on the ground and we will try our best to deter them from having any such idea and even trying to execute any such plans based on their emotions or their feelings.”

Police have identified a person of interest that they are looking for in connection with Lord’s murder. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.

Stop wasting taxpayers’ money in pursuing someone who did society a favour. He got away too many times before and justice has now been served to him.I hope all the others get the same. They kill, threaten witnesses and walk the streets free. Examine who works for the PM and his law partner and know the connections.

  2. Elgin Martinez says:

This story is conflicting. The cops don’t know what the murder weapon was but yet they are saying that the man who shot Lord was armed with a Machine gun.

  3. Justice For Colin says:

Of course we need to find out who this “vigilante” is. The same coward, who sent his thugs to kill this demon Edward last year and by mistake took an innocent life, is most likely the same who finally hit his mark this time.

We gloat when these devils are taken out in cold blood (Junie Balls, Killa, and Edward Lord) but the truth is there are people out there taking the law into their own hands by committing premeditated murders, and that’s a problem for our little technologically challenged country.
We have a common mindset now that if you don’t like someone for whatever reason (he/she is seeing your lover/spouse, or he has a piece of land/property that you want), so why not then just pay someone to get rid of that “problem”. It’s a sad reality, but it’s the truth!

The killing spree will continue until all the thugs are dead. I really don’t care who is doing it. Maybe we have an organized vigilante group that are carrying out these killing spree. Wipe them out!!

  7. Eye in the Sky says:

Did any bullets hit his ears. Good thing this killer bastard is dead.
Little by littel they will kill each their off and maybe Belize will be safe except from the politicians.
Was the killer in a tinted vehicle like the minister barbas says all killers are?

  8. Belizean says:

The poice know its a machine gun because the shooting occured about 100yards from the police sub station and they still didnt catch anyone. Its true that someone did many people a favor but this wont make anything better. Lord’s crew wont leave this as it is so more blood will be shed. Innocent blood might also be shed as usual.

Have him check the rear brakes as well. I’m not sure about the 2003 3 series, but the last generation 5 series had two sensors for brake wear one on front and one on back. The back brakes could be worn down to the sensor, or the sensor could be damaged.Good luck!Greg
