Plastic Packaging Supplies Company robbed at gunpoint

Armed thieves broke into a business establishment not far away from the Mesopotamia police sub-station. The late afternoon robbery on Tigris Street in Belize City netted the three brazen robbers an undisclosed sum of money from Plastic Packaging Supplies Company.  Shortly after three o’clock three men entered the business and held up two employees at gunpoint.  They then proceeded to ransack the office making their escape.  When News Five arrived on the scene C.I.B. personnel were taking statements from an employee. The employees were still shaken with fear and wished not to appear on camera, but according to the proprietor, they were preparing to hand over to police footage of the incident which was caught on surveillance cameras situated at the main entrance of the building.  The owner also told us that in its forty plus years of existence the business has only been robbed twice.

Another horror story to digest, another routine day in the hell that Belize has been reduced to by these callous, heartless, lazy @$$ thugs who think they’re entitled to deprive good, upstanding, l;aw-abiding citizens of their rights to a secure life. I hope these business people all take warning and get licensed firearms to protect their families, lives and businesses because, once you’re robbed and killed, and your your loved ones left to endure the agony, loss and nightmares, the perpetrators will go only go to jail for a couple months, get a lawyer who will manipulate the course of justice along with the corrupted magistrates and the failed judiciary and end right up back on the streets to start the process all over again. I am appalled by this non-stop madness and mayhem. Belize is now officially a failed state and one of the most backward and corrupted in the world. Foreigners BEWARE!!!!! WELCOME TO PARADISE, HOPE YOU SURVIVE YOUR STAY!!!!!!!!!

@ Elgin. These peoples do not need to get securities for their place if they don’t want to. It’s not about being cheap, But these individuals that did this crime had NO RIGHT to enter this property. So its not about security issues, its about Belizeans being “facey”. Maybe if security was at the establishment, probably they would been a shoot out and innocent people would have been killed.

nah, security isnt needed. where i work, we have security guards. but the guards look like they’re 17 years old! not exactly the image of security. either that or they are over weight or old. security isnt needed. dont think its helps much, how many places with security guards have been robbed? banks, doony’s, grocery stores….all victims. i think the state of belize is in dire straits if we believe that EVERY business in belize needs security. you know, people wouldnt steal jewelry and cell phones etc, if theer wasnt a market for it….bze people…STOP BUYING STOLEN GOODS BECAUSE THEY’RE CHEAP! it only feeds crime.

  6. CEO says:

Xaan: Your frame of thinking is good and ideal but we live in a different world than heaven, eutopia or Mayburry. Until we make it to heaven we do need security guards. Let me show you how flawed your thinking is: why have a police force or a militery: they are also security personnel! Until we can get rid of them too yes we need to hire security guards.

Somewhere I have something the same reading, and almost word for word …:)
