San Pedro couple win trip to N.B.A. game

Story PictureIf you have been scouring every Sprite cap you come across looking for letters to form the words, GO NBA, we’ve got some bad news. Before the Bowen and Bowen offices opened on Monday morning Martha Perdomo was already calling to submit her name as the winner of two tickets to see Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This afternoon, Perdomo picked up her tickets and with the aid of a translator told News Five how she got lucky.

“She said she has not been following the promotion, but her nephew was the one who kept insisting that she keep her crowns because she kept throwing them away. And then on Sunday they were home and she had opened a coke and her nephew opened a Sprite and then her nephew said, “look, look we found the B, we found the B” the one we were waiting for and they started to laugh and joke and everything and he wanted to call immediately, but it was Sunday so she called early Monday morning.”

“Are you a basketball fan?”

Martha Perdomo (Translator)
“She’s not a fanatic, but her husband and her son are and when she has time she watches the games with her husband.”

Fortunately for Bowen and Bowen and Perdomo, the Cavaliers are ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference and have already clinched a spot in the playoffs. Sales Manager Nicholas Pollard says the “All the Way to the N.B.A.” promotion was made possible because of an endorsement deal James has with Sprite. It was held in several countries in Central America and the Caribbean.

“Going on this trip will be Belize, Aruba, Curacao, and the Bahamas, for this part. I don’t know about Central America but I’m sure there are other winners. It’s a beautiful prize. They will travel on Friday and from the time they arrive in Cleveland they will have people assisting them all the way to the game. All expenses are covered, hotel and all meals.”

“And you all gave out a number of the other prizes also?”

Nicholas Pollard
“Oh yes, in fact, we still have prizes up until the end of April, so anyone finding prizes up to that time, we will still be honouring those crowns or caps. We have the N.B.A. basketball, the N.B.A. cap, the Lebron James jersey, sling bags and the playstations.”

The grand prize is valued at approximately six thousand dollars. Perdomo and her husband leave the country on Friday. The game between the Cavaliers and Miami Heat takes place on Sunday.
