Colombian cocaine bound for Belize intercepted

The biggest drug bust in local history was recorded in mid-November 2010 when an executive aircraft stuffed to the gills with eighty bales of Colombian cocaine landed along the Southern Highway near Bladen Reserve.  Since that sizeable haul reports of international drug activity within our borders have been far and few.  That doesn’t not mean that Belize is no longer being used as a conduit for the shipment of drugs to North America. Since the beginning of the week, there have been two busts of cocaine shipments destined for Belize. On Tuesday, four men, one confirmed to be an American national, were captured onboard a U.S. flagged vessel at a boatyard in Cartagena, Colombia.  Inside the yacht, Linda Melody, were eight hundred and eleven kilograms of cocaine, the equivalent of one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight pounds, parceled off in a number of individual bricks bound for Belize.  The seizure is estimated at a street value of twenty million US dollars.  The joint sting operation conducted by the Colombian Coast Guard and the Marine Corps came on the heels of another raid last Sunday which netted a cache of fifty-nine kilograms or a hundred and thirty pounds of cocaine valued at a million and a half US dollars.  If you do the math, the value of both shipments are valued at forty-three million dollars in Belize Currency.

When big shipments of cocaine like this is involved, the thugs of Belize are never involved since they are always too busy resizing the population of Belize. Instead, we must focus our main suspicions toward the law officials.

A few months ago, there were stories about what organization ran the drug trade in Belize & the former Compol was on TV spinning it. Even if the DEA agent is as dense as Zetina tried to portray him, real drugs are passing through & our idiot kids keep killing each other over a few dollars. If their family is “lucky”, the big wigs may peel off a $100.00 & chip in for the funeral & scope the same family or neighborhood for the next desperate fool.

Belize is a third world country to have all these drugs dropping from those corrupted country. The young people who are lazy to work they are the fool who get caught up in selling or consuming it .

Is this wy barrow needs to borrow $80 Million??? I bet there’s a few nervous people today in the corridors of power in Belmopan, wondering how far the investigations will go! probably very disappointed too, as they won’t get paid for this shipment..

WOW!!!!!! Some big-time cartels are gonna be really pi$$ed off and Heads Will Roll (literally!!!) I’m sure the customs, coast guard and recipients of this cache are really disappointed because they wont get their payoffs to ensure the safe clearence and unloading of this precious cargo of powdered diamonds. Kudos to the U.S. and Colombian narcs. Now the next move is to find out who was the actual recipients of the cache in Belize. The plot thickens, I love a good suspense!!!!!!!!! lmfao!

Give me a break, amazing how easy it is to fool people. They nab this amount of coke, but no one contemplates how much actually got through, i imagine many times more that what is nabbed.

Why don’t the GOB just sell it off and pay off the super-bond,lol.
