Viewers support the call for a referendum

Government has agreed not to re-issue any oil concession in the area that has been given up by OPIC, the Taiwanese state owned company.  It is some progress but there are larger environmental threats ahead both offshore and onshore since seventeen licenses have been issued. On Tuesday we asked our viewers if they supported the call for a referendum on oil exploration? The polling was in support of the referendum by a huge margin. Seventy seven percent said yes and twenty three said no. On our blog one viewer wrote that “We need a moratorium, a better word than referendum.”
