Stolen airplane and helicopters changing registration numbers at Airport

There are several reports of suspicious if not illegal activity occurring at the Philip Goldson International Airport. Only a week ago, two Mexican choppers landed at the airport, and on the apron the brazen pilots were attempting to change the registration number. Apparently the authorities were informed and the pilots actually requested that relevant authorities witness the change of the registration numbers. The excuse given was that it would make it easier for the helicopters to be taken back and sold in Mexico. The helicopters were grounded for a short and have already left the country.

But there is another incident that has occurred over the weekend that seriously questions the security measures at the country’s only international airport. An aircraft of Mexican origin, a Beechcraft 65 with registration XBLRP, landed at the airport over a month ago. The last flight record showed it came directly from Jamaica.  It is alleged that the plane was confiscated at the airport and grounded at the hangar.  As it turns out, two Mexican pilots appeared at the airport over the weekend and asked to take the plane for a test flight. It is alleged that with permission from his superior, an air worthiness inspector by the name of Ismael Pererra gave the Mexicans the go-ahead to take the plane for a spin. The takeoff at six thirty a.m. was smooth, and eventually the plane disappeared off the radar. The pilots never returned with the craft and it is believed to have been stolen. Strangely enough, the incidents of the helicopters and this Beechcraft 65 have not made it onto any police reports.

This story is so ridiculous, even an idiot could not make this one up. Why do we continue to allow everyone to treat our country like not just a cheap whore but an airhead to boot. A test flight?…… No one is that gullible.

How long will it be before a private army shows up & takes over? It can happen, no one is minding the store.

  12. Al says:

Just when you think it could not get any worse it does. Please explain how two unknown people can enter a countries airport and just casually ask to take an airplane out on a test run. I can see the criminals sitting around having a great big laugh as they drink tequila and smoke cigars at how stupid Belize government is. Barrow should wear a mask in shame, he is the most ineffective head of government in the whole world. I would not be surprised if Belize becomes an occupied territory.

  13. carlos says:

very disappointed with this government and especially with the minister of security and minister of police. Thank you channel 5 for informing us. That why the government wanted to band you. but we are behind you all, for the good of Belize.

  14. Michael says:

None of these incidents are causes by stupidity although they would like us to believe that…….it is all for profit…corruption! Lots of people in Belize needs jobs…..NO TOLERANCE FOR CRIMINALITY…fire them all and replace them with people who appreciate a job and an honest living.

  15. Proud Belizean says:

    Politicians dem a fraud….

  16. Disappointed says:

I wonder if they were Black Belizeans if they would be able to walk into the airport and demand a test run and get it, or for that matter a Black from any country. Belize LOVE LOVE their white folks and Hispanics . I am not surprised nothing in Belize surprise me anymore it is part of the norm.

  17. check it out says:

In Russia everybody in charge of security at the airport including the Minister were fired after last week bombing, in Cuba yesterday Doctors, Nurses and other staff sentenced to 14 years in prison for allowing mental patients to die. In BELIZE, Nothing happens. what came out of KHMH commission of inquiry, what came out of the smuggling ring at the Airport.
Keep digging channel 5, free press, internet, facebook and twitter are now catalysts for democratic changes. Look at Egypt. Belize’s Royal family should take heed.

  21. The People Had Enough says:

Nothing new here folks, this has been going down in the rest of the world for centuries, only thing is, Belize is thrown into this rapid flowing river and it is sending shock waves across the once peaceful, low-corruption nation. Money, outside, foreign, drug money is been spread quite handsomely across a nation were civil servants and politicians get paid diddly squat, so of course they gonna jump through hoops when hundreds of thousands of blue notes flash in front of their eyes…..but just wait, we have not seen anything yet, when the Mexican Cartels who has joined up and working with the MS13, start coming in to do mass executions then we will witness a whole different ball game…stay tuned, more action to come.

  22. CEO says:

We should all be happy that we live in such a trusting country. Accidents happen sometimes and that’s life. I’m sure that it was a simple mistake. Perhaps the pilots sat nav stopped working?

  23. Common Sense says:

  25. bossman says:

The problem with Belize is everybody apparently has a price . How stupid ! Belize goes where angels fear to thread . The USA is worried about the lot of mercenary activity with the drug cartels in Mexico but here in Bze we give them planes LOL . WOW. Wake up and smell the roses.

  26. bossman says:

Sound like a Magyver movie. or the A-TEAM

  27. bossman says:

yu can’t even go crass di border now if deh no di chk everything ,but we gi them plane. LOL

  28. shock says:

Folks, take it from an old head, Belize has always been a seat of corruption. The only difference now, is that the news media is trying to make their point with what they want. Case in point, a few weeks ago channel 5 reported about the sexual mist conduct of a high ranking Police officer, but did not give his name; but channel 7 provided a name and promised to give a follow up on the new of the following day,but that must be a day of the universe, or I mist it, so will someone correct me if I’m wrong. Be reminded that some men are behind bars for only touching a female inapropiately in the flash of a second. Hypocracy is one of the contributing factor to much of the crime and other social problems in the country.

  29. mail man says:

as i see it all the police in Belize just sit on there @$$ don,t care , don,t give shit about what going on ———- they have the name police hide behind a uniform ——and pray for the next pay day——————– this is sad ———- note soon the people of BELIZE will take over and make changes for our kids ———— hello people are getting fed up of this system hello GEORGE PRICE please come back and make BELIZE –BELIZE EVEN FOR ONE YEAR ———–EGYPT PEOPLE ERUPTS OVER BAB GOVERMENT————WAKE UP BELIZEAN BEFORE IT,S TOO LATE———————-

  30. NY2LA says:

This will continue to happen until Belize get people in the security and police Dept who actually know what they are doing.
Time to bring in outside people since the ones in charge have no idea what they are doing .
