Suspect charged in Freetown Road robbery

Story PicturePolice have formally charged a suspect in Sunday’s armed robbery on Freetown Road. Twenty year old Steven Chuc was arraigned on a count of Robbery when he appeared in Magistrate’s Court this morning and has been remanded to Hattieville Prison until July ninth. His alleged accomplice, twenty-one year old Marvin Bradley, will be charged later this week with Robbery and Aggravated Assault. Police believe Bradley, Chuc and a third man, Jermaine Gomez, were the trio who walked into Garden Shop on Freetown Road on Sunday afternoon and held up proprietor Dennis Chow along with at least three customers. During the incident, Chow shot and killed Gomez. Subsequent police investigations into the robbery later led to the arrest of Chuc and Bradley. Police say as they questioned witnesses about the shooting, a woman came forward and identified Marvin Bradley as the gunman who killed Christino Madrill in April on Castle Street. Bradley was formally accused of Murder during court proceedings on Tuesday.
