A homeless man is found murdered in Belize City

Story PictureMurder number forty-four for 2008 was recorded this afternoon in Belize City. Around one-thirty police discovered the body of forty-four year old Cyril Coleman floating in the harbour near the Baron Bliss Lighthouse. The corpse had a deep cut wound to the left side of the throat and cops are now trying to decipher who would want the homeless man dead and why. According to Coleman’s mother, Elizabeth Myvette, her son was a constant victim of robbery and assault.

Cyril woulda go wid it and under speed dehn young bwai, you know dehn ragga muffin bwai, dehn turn round and beat ah up. And before dehn beat ah he turn round and give dehn. Dah so he do yoh know, he prefer walk barefoot. Eena May, I si he because when ih mi gone out dah Brodies weh Miss Birdie deh, he all time get ih food from she because she da ih aunty and I all time go out deh and help she. Sohe come around and when he come around, Miss Birdie wah si to it dat ih get ih food.”

Up to news time police were still investigating and had not made any arrest in connection with the murder. Coleman was the eldest son for Elizabeth Myvette and would have turned forty-five next month.
