Minors busted for burglary

In more news from the courts, a fifteen year old has pleaded guilty to Burglary. The teen and his twelve year old brother appeared in Family Court this morning to answer to the charges, but the younger sibling did not follow his brother’s lead and instead pleaded not guilty to the same offence. Magistrate Natalia Carter deferred sentencing of the fifteen year old until August thirteenth so that a social report on the boy and his family can be completed. The brothers have been granted bail of one thousand dollars each. On Monday, the young men were caught red-handed in the Mahogany Heights home of Police Corporal Ian Geban. According to court reports, on that day police responded to a burglary in progress and arrived at the premises to find the duo inside. The brothers were apparently making a second trip to the house as a number of items were already missing, including four doors. One of the doors was recovered from a Mahogany Heights carpenter, twenty-four year old Clarence Grant, who was charged with Handling Stolen Goods. Grant pled guilty to the charges when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court today and was fined one thousand dollars. He has until November third to pay or in default, serve one year in prison.
