Income Tax Dept., Natl. Transport launch websites

Story PictureTechnology is a time-saver and it is with that in mind that today the Income Tax Department officially launched its website. By logging on to www dot income tax Belize dot org, residents can access information on the country’s tax laws, refunds and payments, application forms, and links to other sites. According to Assistant Tax Commissioner, Marilyn Ordonez, the webpage is designed to be user-friendly and efficient.

“It is something that has been long awaited. The public has been asking us for information constantly. Many times we have to fax information, we have to go and research information and try and put it in a format that could give them that assistance. So we felt that at this time where, or in this current age of modern technology, we need to give the public the information at their fingertips because everybody now has an internet access at their desks.”

The technology fever also spread to National Transport, which today also launched a webpage. Operations Manager Philip Jones told News Five that the new site, along with a newsletter, will keep its customers up to date.

And we at national, we are setting a high standard so that we can meet the challenge. On our webpage, you can find out schedules, you can make arrangement for charter information, you can make bookings, you can voice your concerns, complain, whatever. It’s not a newspaper, it’s a newsletter. It’s a newsletter. It’s free of cost. We are launching our newsletter every month it will be a monthly newsletter that we’re informing our customer on what we are trying to achieve and also we want to hear from our customer.
