Garbage problem temporarily fixed at market
There is some relief for the Queen Square market vendors, who now operate out of the Poundyard Compound. After our story on Wednesday night about the uncollected garbage most of the waste was cleaned up except for a small heap of bagged trash. The dogs, however, had rummaged through the waste because the garbage container has still not been replaced. Without the bin to store the bagged trash, the vendors say the garbage will build up again. The vendors are unsatisfied with the quick fix and want the garbage to be taken back to the market.
I just hope that we get a WORLD CLASS MARKET out of this. The new Queens Square Market should be open soon….. soon.
Why don’t the vendors put their garbage in bags themselves and deliver it to the wasteland in the mean time, it is also in their best interest to sell their products from a clean, non infested place to their customers.
belize is knowed for their numerous homeless dogs and rats littering the streets with human garbage on a daily basis, so why not come together as vendors and do something about the garbage together for the time-being instead of going back to such a filty place day after day to conduct business.
take some responsibility for yourselves, and stop wating around for the government to come clean up your mess.
It is time to see the garbage situation for what it is and take part in the mess and then take action yourself
maddyvandijk…….. YOU ARE WAY TOO JUDGEMENTAL!!!!!!!
If I am not mistaken….. The vendors are charged a fee, that went up recently.
I agree maddyvandijk…..vendors should team up and put together to have the place clean instead of waiting on that waste of time shh…ty council to get their act together.
