For most parents, the closing of schools often means having to find ways of keeping young children out of trouble and safe until school reopens. The National Institute of Culture and History has joined the abundance of summer programs that will be taking place in the upcoming months. Their specially designed Summer Arts Program 2010 began Monday and it’s already filling up. News five spoke with Clive Myers, the program officer and found out what’s different about this summer art program.

Clive Myers, Program Officer

“Our summer program here at the Institute of Creative Arts is simply to enhance and help the participants and the Belizean Public to mould the skills in respective artistic discipline, which for this year the program covers a wise variety of different courses including videography, photography, the basics as dance, drama, creative writing and voice training. With the incipience of the summer program which started yesterday, we had the drawing and painting that is happening at the Museum of Belize along with the voice training which commenced today. As time progresses the other courses will run through to August the twentieth.”
