Duo sentenced to life for brutal murder of Cruz Sho

Story PictureLindsdale Franklin and Ryan Herrera spent the last week in the Hattieville Prison waiting to hear their fate after they were convicted of Murder on December fourth. Justice Michelle Arana handed down her decision today and the men can look forward to spending a lot more time in their cells because they were sentenced to life in prison for the heinous slaying of Cruz Sho. The details of the incident were given during trial by Franklin’s nephew, Ervin, who was granted immunity for agreeing to testify. And it was that testimony that secured the murder conviction. Sho’s life was ended at the tender age of twenty, when she was accosted by Franklin and Herrera at the home of Eldon Chiac, her then common-law-husband. She was tied up and gagged, after which the men took turns raping her. Sho was then stabbed numerous times to the abdomen and her throat was slashed before the men left her lying in a pool of blood. But as horrific as the crime was, the men showed no remorse during mitigation today. Herrera’s Grand aunt and a friend of Franklin’s each spoke well of the men. Franklin and Herrera were accompanied in court by their attorneys Andrea McSweeney and Ellis Arnold.
