Register did not reflect accurate information

Story PictureThe second witness today was the Supervisor of the Radiology Unit at the K.H.M.H., Freddy Mansu. Mansu did not take the oath on the Bible because he said he is not a Christian. According to Mansu, he found problems with the register that was used in the Department because it did not reflect accurate information.

Freddy Mansu, Supervisor, Radiology Department, K.H.M.H.
“Mr. Carlos Perrera told me that we have nothing to with patients paying money and I made it clear. I said we are not collecting money from patients but our input is making sure that we get the receipt before taking the patient into the room is going to help to make sure that the money is collected. So that was the end of the story. We cannot operate without that register. We have to operate with it so we are able to strengthen ourselves and know everything we’re doing. In the night the technician on duty would get the register from the clerk who is going home and he keeps it from twelve o’clock and he starts recording the patients that come in. But in the hospital system, I’m saying in the computer, the people would never exist. They don’t exist. The only exist in that register. But in the other case from eight o’clock in the morning to twelve o’clock in the night, the patients are registered in the book and at the same time in the computer. And that was something that I drew the attention about. I said this I going to give wrong information because people are working from twelve o’clock in the night to twelve o’clock but without assistance. They don’t work with the system, they only register the patients into the book and nothing has been done about it. So definitely that will be a problem if they continue that way. The statistics will not be correct.”

“Mr. Mansu, Mr. Perrera will be here probably next week. What you described to us here, that is no system of accountability because—on this I’ll speculate that you are told that you should be careless whether or not a patient has paid before x-rays are taken. That’s what you told us. From what I heard from you, I believe I can speak for my other members here, that can’t be. That don’t sound proper. So Mr. Perrera will be here and I’ve made a notation on this so that I can throw that to him. This is what I can tell him that you said.”

Freddy Mansu
“I said it yes, I said it.”

The inquiry resumes next Thursday but the names of the witnesses have not been revealed because they have not yet been summoned. Those names should be made public by Wednesday.
