Fundraiser for Trinity school feeding program

Story PictureAnd Joel “Dara” Robinson is known for his tributes to Bob Marley, but on Saturday night, he is promoting the music of Otis Redding. Dara is putting a large screen in the middle of the tennis court next to the M.C.C. stadium for the video concert and Karaoke session. But it isn’t just to have a good time. Dara says it’s a fundraising event to raise funds to help the feeding program of Trinity Methodist School.

“I normally do tributes to Bob Marley, Lucky Dube. I do tributes and dis dah how I raise funds in order fi help out lee charities and thing. Basically weh I di deal wid fi di past five years, I di deal wid feeding programs. I try assist schools and normally I would ah ask people fi bring canned food and bring things but sometimes when dehn bring it dah noh enough. Di show crowded yes, dat nice fi any promoter but den di real effort weh I want do sometimes ih lef me down. So is one weh I do, I decide fi add karaoke and dance to di tribute dat ih could go lee longer and dat we could mek was little more so dat I could tek wah lee bit ah di proceeds and buy my own stuff and donate it to di school, t least wah month supply or so. One ah di main schools I di target dah Trinity you understand because I si di problem deh. Problem deh deh di most and I di try assist dah school dat dah di main school I really want target from dis show yoh know.”

Dara says the event starts at seven and entrance if fifteen dollars per person or twenty dollars per couple.
