Elderly Brothers Stabbed; Grandson Detained

Dwayne Sutherland

Two elderly brothers are recovering from stab wounds they suffered at the hands of a younger relative on Saturday evening in Lemonal Village. The incident happened in front of the Anthony’s residence, where a celebration was happening after a cricket match. And the suspect is no stranger to police. Aside from being the grandson of one of the victims and the grandnephew of the other, Dwayne Sutherland was out on bail on a gun charge when he stabbed his elders. News Five’s Marion Ali has the details in the following report.

Marion Ali, Reporting
The quiet village of Lemonal, in the Belize River Valley, was the scene of a double stabbing on Saturday evening. Two elderly brothers, Tony and Russell Anthony came under attack in front of Tony’s residence and it was at the hands of his own grandson. Tony told News Five that he got stabbed for trying to prevent his grandson from returning to a scene where he was involved in a fight just minutes earlier.
