Shyne Barrow: “I Just Want One Standard”

Shyne Barrow

On Monday, Shyne Barrow wrote to C.E.O. Jason Liberty of the Royal Caribbean Group regarding the scandalous Definitive Agreement, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding the company has entered into with Boskalis and Portico.  During the interview on Tuesday, he was also asked about a response from Royal Caribbean and whether a letter from C.E.O. Liberty is forthcoming.

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition

“So when you ask me what is my gain, so then it‘s clear that there is corruption and this is entirely corrupt activity whereas a group such as Portico that is nowhere near Stake Bank, nowhere near Waterloo, as far as resources, as far as experience and capacity.  What is the gain?  Who is gaining financially and otherwise to keep pushing Portico?  Why hasn‘t the government either stayed out and looked at getting the other projects ready?  Revisit.  I have long said that we need to find solutions.  Find a solution for the Feinstein causeway.  He claims, and I believe, that he has a letter signed by the pertinent authority, not a letter signed by Courtney from Channel 7, but from the pertinent authority that is required to sign.  But  this government, I‘m telling you what they say…”

“The environmentalists say otherwise, that they’ve not seen any approval for…”

Shyne Barrow

“No, no, no.  You di talk bout di environmentalists.  I am telling you, well the same environmentalists have not said anything about Portico who’s dredging a million meters more than Waterloo.  So it’s very confusing right now.  We just, I just want one standard.”
