“Economic situation in Belize is better than it was under the old government at the same point in their last term. But the PUP government isn‘t really getting credit from voters for it. It begs the question, are they not doing enough to address the problem or are they failing to inform people. In the areas where PDP has an advantage on the government and impact the lives of individual Belizeans less than where they are perceived as not performing well. Cost of living impacts everybody in this room. Quality of education impacts only those of you who have kids who are getting an education or you, yourself, if you‘re getting an education; immediately anyway. So, tourism. We asked people how important they think tourism is for people like you. As I said, Belizeans overwhelmingly, seventy-six percent believe it‘s very important. So Belizeans get that tourism matters and these numbers are up from the last time we asked which which was 2015.”
