The results of the Belize 2023 Polling Survey were released earlier during a press conference at the Radisson.  The exercise, commissioned by Lord Michael Ashcroft, was conducted by Viking Strategies, a leading U.S. political research and sovereign risk firm.  It is the eleventh survey carried out by the firm and provides valuable insight into the attitudes and opinions of the Belize population and contains data about government, the economy, tourism and crime.

“I started this journey just to educate myself as to what attitudes were on a number of issues within Belize, just for my own edification.  And this was the first year that I felt that perhaps I would share it with everyone and maybe I will do this on an annual basis in order that something which happens all the time in the United Kingdom, Australia, many other countries, proper surveys of voter attitudes towards all issues and perhaps by next year we’ll be able to expand it even further and, certainly before the municipal elections so that the voters are able to see the issues that are important to them or the politicians can see that too.”
