Minister Gilroy Usher: Proceeds from Boledo to go to Sports, Healthcare & More
While Fantasy Five and Pick-3 have been cancelled, Minister of State Gilroy Usher Senior spoke of a plan for the boledo contract once it resumes. According to Minister Usher, it will be managed by the government and the plan is for proceeds to be invested in sports, healthcare and more. He refused to say anything else, despite being pressed by the reporters.
Gilroy Usher Sr., Minister of State, Sports
“As a part of our commitment to sports, including track and field, the government is committed to using the proceeds from the boledo and lottery when that starts up to promote sports. So that will be a concrete way to promote sports because chairs and so on are good, but at the same time we need better sporting facilities, we need better trainers and we need incentives for the youths when they excel. And so the proceeds from the boledo that will be operated by the government will go a long way in promoting sports in the country.”

“It was deferred in the senate by the way. Why?”
Gilroy Usher Sr.
“My apology. The government is committed to getting the boledo started as quickly as possible and I reiterate that the proceeds from boledo, which will be run by the government, will be used to promote sports, healthcare and other things in the country that are needed, but just that available funds is short.”

“Is there any update though sir, as a cabinet minister, as to when that contract is going to restart, when boledo is going to restart?”
Gilroy Usher Sr.
“No, no, no. I can’t make any comment on that because I am not abreast of the latest development with it. I wasn’t at the senate hearing today and I wasn’t at the last cabinet meeting because of other government business.”
