D.F.C Currently Modernizing its System to Offer Quicker Service

Reneau explained that the bank is currently digitalizing and modernizing its entire system to speed up the turnaround for business transactions and to keep up with the changing times. Not only that, the bank is also doing product development so that when it applies, it can receive Green Climate Funds accreditation.

“One of the things that people can look out for is a more customer-centric approach as services, more quicker response time, more rapidly. But in addition to that, we are actually working with the I.D.P. We’re doing some product development, so we have some innovation. One of our biggest things in the pipeline is D.F.C applying for the G.C.F accreditation. Now, that is huge for Belize because at the end of the day, what the accreditation will do is for us to focus on primary resilience, which is one of four main strategic trust, but at the same time it would give us more affordable funding to lend to the Belizean public for projects that would help us to save our country, save Belize, and reduce the emission as it pertains to carbon dioxide.”
