MOHW Hosts Nursing Long Service Awards Ceremony

The Ministry of Health and Wellness hosted a Nursing Long Service Awards Ceremony today, in recognition of Nurses Week. Over a hundred nurses were recognized for their years of service in the public sector. The event was held in Belize City. Kevin Bernard, the Minister of Health and Wellness, was in attendance. He gave the following remarks.

“I know that it not everyone in this room that could have been here today, but nurses on a whole, service providers as I would say, you all have done an exemplary work over the years and you all have well shown the effort and love and passion that you have for this profession. During COVID you all went ome after days, and weeks not seeing your own family. But you did it because you cared for your community, your people and you country. So, as we celebrate nurses’ week this week, as I said at KHMH on Monday when I attended the opening service there, while we put aside this week to celebrate nurses internationally, we must celebrate our nurses every single day.”
