A Second Suspect is Charged for Murder of Silvian Swift

Silvian Swift

Twenty-year old Christopher Pitts was arraigned for the murder of Silvian Swift earlier today when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford.  Pitts is the second suspect to be charged for the deadly shooting that occurred on April thirtieth in Belize City.  Tonight, the mechanic of a King Street address is spending his first night on remand at the Belize Central Prison where he joins twenty-nine-year-old Anthony Carballo Junior who was also brought up on a charge of murder on May second.  Silvian Swift was standing at the corners of Antelope Street and Central American Boulevard when he was approached by a pair of men on motorcycle.  The men opened fire on Swift, mortally wounding him.  Pitts and Carballo are due back in court on July third, 2023.
