CONCACAF President Visits Belize

Sergio Chuc

The President of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association of Football (CONCACAF), Victor Montagliani, was on a twenty-four hour trip to Belize. Today, the Football Federation of Belize held a press conference at the House of Culture where Sergio Chuc, the President of F.F.B., and President Montagliani addressed the media. Here is what they had to say about the development of the discipline in Belize.

Sergio Chuc, President, F.F.B.

“As you are well aware, we have developed our infrastructure tremendously by taking advantage of the FIFA Forward program, specifically the project aspect of FIFA Forward where we develop business plans and send it to FIFA for financing. We have been able to construct a state-of-the-art facility in Belmopan with a FIFA Pro approved synthetic pitch, our bleachers are complete and recently we invited all stakeholders, the media included to help us with the final drafting of the master plan for the center of excellence that we will be constructing in Belmopan over the next five to six year.”

“We have a football first philosophy and what I am really happy about my first visit here in you country is that talking to members of the executive committee, former players, Sergio and the strategy that he has already enrolled I love to see that it is about football first and about being strategic, about infrastructure and investing through various sources he can, whether FIFA or CONCACAF, investing in the development at the coach level, the youth level. We know that the sexy part of the game is national teams and all that and that will come and those successes have to built on by investing in the right areas. So, it is a real pleasure to see the work being done by Sergio in just short order as the president. Belize now, especially now with Sergio at the CONCACAF level, in terms of the relevancy in region has been heightened and that is very good for your country.”
