Higher Than Usual Number of Police Pass Exams this Time Around

Chester Williams

In previous years there have been reports that the officers who sit the exams perform poorly with most of them failing to record a passing mark. That oftentimes prohibited them from being promoted. But the Commissioner explained that the difficulty level is intentionally set this way. Nonetheless, this year, the officers’ performance is said to be much higher than usual. Hence, there will be several male officers who will be promoted next week to join the female ones who were promoted today.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“The exams are normally set to be extremely tough. Um, you know, we promote based on base on vacancies and due to the limited vacancy we normally have, we can’t have an exam. It’s going be too easy for everybody to pass. So it is set at a very, very high level, and that’s the reason why the success rate is low. But again, despite that we were able to have a good success at this time. Many of our officers did pass and they went through before the board and uh, now they have been rewarded for their good work.”
