Gilberto Gallego Remanded for Firearm Offense

Gilberto Gallego

Forty-one-year-old Gilberto Gallego was reported missing by his common-law wife on March tenth.  He returned home safely and in good health to his family a few days later, but the news tonight is that Gallego is behind bars after being charged for altering a firearm without written permission from the Commissioner of Police.  A day after being reported missing, Gallego’s residence on Central American Boulevard was burglarized and stolen from the property was surveillance camera and two sets of keys.  The incident was also reported by Gallego’s common-law wife.  The officers visited the home where they searched a white Toyota Prado that was parked in the yard.  Inside the vehicle they discovered a black .223 rifle, two magazines containing thirty rounds each and a black in color, red and green sight, as well as a laser sight attached to the rifle.  On Monday, March thirteenth, Gallego presented himself at Precinct One in the company of attorney Oscar Selgado and submitted a special protection license for the rifle, but that’s when the officers noticed that there was no permission given to him to alter the rifle with a laser attachment.  As a result, Gallego was arrested and charged for the crime of altering a firearm without the permission in writing of the Commissioner of Police.
