P.U.P. Calls for the Resignation of PG Town Councillor Moses Cal

Moses Cal

The People’s United Party has called for the immediate removal of one of its own, following a domestic incident involving P.U.P. councillor Moses Cal, a member of the Punta Gorda Town Council. Cal, also a high school teacher, has been charged for wounding a woman in the south. In the wake of the altercation, the People’s United Party promptly issued a statement reiterating its zero tolerance policy on domestic violence. According to the party’s executive, including Chairman Henry Charles Usher and Party Leader John Briceño, there is no other alternative than to call for the immediate resignation of the councillor.

“When we heard the news yesterday, it was very unfortunate. We were very upset to hear that this incident occurred. As you see, the party sent out a press release immediately yesterday.”

“Will he be kicked out of the party?”

Henry Charles Usher

“Well as of right now, he has been asked to step down. He’s one year away from an election so I don’t believe there needs to be a bye-election, but we believe that it is important that he steps down as a town councillor.”

“Has he responded to the party’s request?”

Henry Charles Usher

“The letter was just sent to him in writing today; I don’t think we have gotten anything back from him as yet.”
