B.D.F. Keeping Chiquibul Clear of Narco Cattles

Meanwhile, operations in the Chiquibul have also been uneventful, as far as confrontations with Guatemalan civilians go. The B.D.F continues to work along with the F.C.D to keep illegal intrusions into that national reserve to a minimum. Today, B.D.F Commandant Loria explained how those operations are progressing, at least as far as the narco-cattle activities go.

“This Friday, we are going to have a meeting with the Friends for Conservation and Development. It’s something that we’re re-strategizing because the current strategy i is not working as to how we would want it to. So we’ll continue to discuss that strategy. But it is something – the means – we’re thinking about, not necessarily the Mennonites to go and retrieve the cattle that that is roaming in that area, but we’ll find other o other ways to, to deal with that problem.  For the time being, we’re cutting down their fences whenever they encroach into Belize. We automatically send a verification letter to the Ministry of National Defense and Foreign Affairs so that the Organization of American State’s personnel can come verify. Once they verify, we, we go and cut, cut down whatever fences we find in the area.”
