Celebrate Women’s Day with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
And on Saturday, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at is hosting a Women’s Day activity here in Belize City where a variety of services will be provided free of cost to women across the country. It’s an open invitation to celebrate Women’s Day with the faith-based organization at its headquarters on the George Price Highway. Khadija Hassan tells us more.
Khadija Hassan, Tabligh Secretary
“It’s part of our community to give back. We do various things to give back to the community. Of course, we do know that in Islam we separate the sex, so this is a woman’s only event. So all women out there who hear my voice, please come, it’s the second time we are having it too and it was very successful. So we just would like to invite, you know, the women in Belize to come for some services.”
Maham Ullah, Women’s President, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
“So we have a bunch of activities, free services provided for our ladies. We basically have henna painting and we have nail painting and eyebrow threading, and we also because we know our ladies are very busy with children, we also have a children’s section where the kids can be entertained while our ladies get these free services. We also have food and dessert that’s going to be sold by our local Belizean ladies and this is just to encourage Belizeans to come out for all of us to support our local ladies around. We also have a couple ladies coming to sell candies and we have a couple ladies coming to sell skincare products. So different businesses are coming and they’ll be giving their services as well.”
