APAMO Holds National Civil Society Climate Action Forum
The Government of Belize launched its Belize-Green Climate Fund Country Program through the Ministry of Economic Development and its Climate Finance Unit. Following the launch, the Association of Protected Areas Management Organizations, in partnership with the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute, held a National Civil Society Climate Action Forum. The forum served as a platform for civil society organizations to join a C.S.O. Action Team as an information network of C.S.O.’s, including non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations. The action team is being established to support effective engagement in climate change processes at the national and local levels. It is expected to strengthen knowledge sharing and partnerships further and to enhance their access to climate finance and implementation of climate adaptation and mitigation in Belize.
