Fitzroy Yearwood

There was a shooting in Belize City on Saturday morning that has left one man injured. Rosney O’Brian was travelling on Lakeview Street just before three a.m. when he heard the blast of a single gunshot. He then realised that he had been shot, and managed to ride his motorbike to the K.H.M.H. where he was treated. Police believe that the shooting was a random act of gun violence.

“We received a report on the seventeenth of December about 2:50 a.m. of shots being fired on Banak Street. Police visited the K.H.M.H. where they observed Rosney O’Brien, forty-two years technician of an Antelope Street Extension address, with apparent gunshot wounds to the body. Initial investigations revealed that Rosney O’Brien was travelling on his black Honda motorcycle on Lakeview Street when he heard a loud bang and realised that he was shot. He managed to drive himself to the Karl Heusner Memorial [Hospital] where he is receiving medical treatment.”
