Three Members of the Judiciary Sworn In
Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam has sworn in three members of the judiciary. Chief Justice Louise Esther Blenman and Justice Minnet Hafiz-Bertram were sworn in on November twenty-second. Justice Michelle Arana was sworn in on November thirtieth. Chief Justice Louise Esther Blenman was initially sworn in as the new Chief Justice on September second; however, due to the recent passing of the Senior Courts Bill, which saw the restructuring of the Office of the Chief Justice, she was sworn-in for a second time to assume her new role as the judicial leader for both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. Following the Chief Justice’s swearing-in, Minnet Hafiz-Bertram was officially sworn in as the President of the Court of Appeal. Justice Hafiz-Bertram assumed the post of Acting President in December 2020. Justice Michelle Arana has now assumed the post of Justice of the Court of Appeal.
