Elite Cyclist Marlon Castillo Injured in Meat Shop Mishap
Well-known Belizean cyclist Marlon Castillo suffered an unfortunate mishap on the job today. Castillo was working in his meat shop, Marlon Castillo Quality Meats, located inside the Michael Finnegan Market in Belize City when his right arm got caught in a meat grinder. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with his arm still lodged inside the meat grinder. He immediately went into surgery. When we visited the shop this afternoon, his family declined to comment on the incident. They only told us that they appreciate the thoughts and prayers that are pouring in at this time. Castillo has won many titles in cycling. In the last Cross Country Cycling Classic, he placed fourth and was the second Belizean to cross the finish line. We will continue to follow.
