Inspiration Centre Launches 2023 Calendar

The Inspiration Centre today launched its 2023 Calendar – marking the eighth year that the centre has produced a calendar. The centre’s Executive Director, Joycelyn Lopez explained that their calendar is launched each year to coincide with Disability Awareness Week and that the calendars feature the work of the children who seek their services.

“What our calendar does is highlight artwork done by our very own children who access services from the centre. Art is something that is very important for all children but it’s crucial for children with special needs because artistic activities directly exercise and strengthen the cognitive and physical skills that generally challenge our children. Art helps our children with the development of motor skills, decision-making, risk-taking and inventiveness. Arts teach about colour, layout, perspective and balance, all necessary in academic work. The value of art activities for children cannot be over-emphasized. They provide all young children and especially children with special needs with expression and creativity.”
