Chester Williams Draws Distance from U.D.P. Shenanigans

Chester Williams

The internal row within the United Democratic Party continues to see members of the opposition stooping to their lowest.  On Monday, a clip from a purported political ad was posted on Facebook.  The brief video extract shows Collet Area Representative Patrick Faber in what appears to be another physical altercation with a woman in the presence of a child.  The confrontation is being used as an advertisement by Faber’s intra-party opponents and contains a sound bite from Commissioner of Police Chester Williams who spoke against domestic violence in a previous interview.  ComPol Williams has since come forward to draw distance between himself and what has been taking place within the embattled political party.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“I am extremely disappointed in the producer or producers of that ad.  The comments or the voice in the ad is certainly mine and that was in respect to an interview I had given a couple months ago on domestic violence and I still maintain my position, I am vehemently opposed to domestic violence and I would never support a person who stands for domestic violence because I do believe that we must learn to respect and cherish our women and children.  I would want to think that the ad was produced by someone within the U.D.P. as part of the U.D.P.’s ongoing battle among themselves and I want it to be known clear that I have nothing to do with the ad and I disassociate myself from it completely for I have not authorized anybody to use my voice in order for them to achieve their own political objective.  While I oppose certain things that Mr. Faber had done or allegedly done in the past, I would never resort to creating such an ad.”
