How Much Has Been Investment Through Resilient Rural Belize?

Osmond Martinez

While with C.E.O. Doctor Osmond Martinez, we asked for an update on how much has been invested so far from Resilient Rural Belize Program which is funded by the Green Climate Fund. He says that only twelve point five percent of the forty million-dollar fund has been used thus far.

Dr. Osmond Martinez, C.E.O., Ministry of Economic Development

“So far, it has been invested about five million dollars out of forty million Belize that the program has. Remember we were about to lose this program, when we were in Glasgow, you were there, and we had to actually be aggressive in negotiating to retain this program, if not we were about to forty million dollars. The most important component on this project is that more than fifty percent of it comes from GCF funds and is the first G.C.F. project in the region, not only in Belize, in the Caribbean region.”
