A Vicious Stabbing in San Narciso Village Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

Thirty-five-year-old Kenya Villamil was viciously stabbed by her ex-boyfriend in San Narciso Village on September twenty-first.  She was injured as many as twelve times when Myron Palencia reportedly took a knife to her while she was on her way home that night.  Communications Director, Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood told us today that the incident is being treated with high priority by the Belize Police Department.

“It was reported on Independence Day also that Ms. Viamil, when she was not at home, her house was visited by a man claiming to be her ex-boyfriend, Myron Palencia, where he removed a bike from the home belonging to Ms. Viamil.  Our officers were informed that Ms. Viamil went looking for him and a few hours later, a call came in to police via 911 stating that a female was stabbed and left seen behind the San Narciso Clinic.  When police arrived on the scene, they immediately rushed her to the Corozal Community Hospital where she was treated and is still admitted in a stable condition.  I know that the information gathered was from someone that was at Ms. Viamil’s house at the time that could have relayed the information to the police because at first, she was not in a condition to make a report herself.  We are treating this incident with priority because we know that it may have stemmed because of Ms. Viamil ending the relationship with that young man, Myron [Palencia].  So as soon as charges have been made, I will let you know.”
