PM Proposes New Chair for Public Services Commission
In July, Prime Minister John Briceño had identified Moises Cal as his pick for the chairperson of the Public Services Commission. But soon after that proposal, the Opposition objected to Cal on grounds that he has a questionable history dating back to 2007 when he was caught with a large sum of money in Panama which was undeclared. Well, there’s a new person that the P.M. has nominated to the post. Minister of the Public Service, Henry Charles Usher shared the name with us.

“The Prime Minister has already written the Leader of the Opposition, proposing Mr. Crecensio Sosa as the chairman of the Public Services Commission. I’m not sure if the Leader of the Opposition has written back to the Prime Minister with his thoughts, but certainly once that process is complete we will proceed as fast as we can to get the Public Service Commission appointed, not only the chairman, but all of the vacant seats because there are a number of items pending that we need to have before the Commission. There are a number of issues such as promotions, such as promotions, such as appointments, disciplinary matters, there’s quite a few and we need to get that work done.”
