Cooperation Agreement Strengthens Partnership Between Belize and Taiwan

The agreement further supports expertise and exchanges that will continue to enhance the coast guard’s ability to perform the very critical tasks associated with supporting the blue bond initiatives of expanding our marine protected areas.

“This agreement creates a new opportunity, a new milestone for both Taiwan and Belize expand communication and share information in developing coast guard cooperation and combating marine transnational crime. Also, it provides a new way for both countries to increase more personnel visiting, training exchanges of talents and technology. We also expect to see future practice of maritime search and rescue and fisheries law enforcement between our two countries. In addition, the coast guard agreement is rock-solid evidence to reaffirm the relationship between Taiwan and Belize which share common values of democracy, freedom and human rights which we are going to especially before we joyfully celebrate the thirty-third anniversary of diplomatic partnership between Belize and Taiwan.”
