“Guava to the Farrid”, A Prank Says ComPol Williams
A couple weeks ago, a medico-legal form from the Southern Regional Hospital reflected one officer’s strange description of an injury received by a complainant. While the description left many questions, ComPol Williams told reporters today that it was simply a prank being ran by officers in Dangriga.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“At the beginning of this month a medico legal form was leaked from the Southern Regional Hospital, went viral on Facebook where your officers made a report and upon the particular injuries observed by the police, they described the injuries of the individual of a guava to the right side of the farrid. I wanted to ask you about in terms of literacy training for your officers, because comments have been made before that the police department have officers who are unfit. So, now you are portraying to the public that you also have officers who are illiterate. The truth of the matter is that matter was a prank that the officers in Dangriga did among themselves. It was not an official medico legal form that was issued for someone to go to a doctor. It was only a prank between them and you all have seen a number of medico legal form issued by police before. Have you ever seen something like that before, no. it was just a prank between the offices and someone put it out and it made news and people begin to say that the police is illiterate. I can say emphatically that our recruitment process is such that we recruit qualified people.”
