Call Center Employee Shot by Police Officer

On Thursday night, a single shot rang out on Euphrates Avenue in Belize City. When the echo of the gunshot subsided, twenty-two-year-old Rondane Swaso, a call center employee, had been shot once to the chest. Police were on the scene within minutes and an injured Swaso was retrieved from an overgrown property, placed in the pan of a police pickup truck and rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical, but stable condition. News Five caught up with Swaso’s girlfriend outside of the K.H.M.H. compound.  She says that she was at home when she heard the shot and ran out to find that her boyfriend had been injured by a police officer.
