New Medical Imaging Equipment for K.H.M.H.
The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital received a donation of equipment used in medical imaging from the Taiwanese government. On Thursday, a brief handing over ceremony was held at the K.H.M.H. where Taiwanese Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien, health official Doctor Jorge Polanco and K.H.M.H. C.E.O. Chandra Cansino were present.

“We are so proud and grateful for the partnership that we have with the embassy and people of Taiwan and so happy to have been chosen to be part of this project which aims to digitize radiology. The radiology systems in our hospitals and most certainly resulting in a further strengthening in the medical imaging system of Belize. The agreement between the Government of Belize and the Government of Taiwan to strengthen medical imaging services in Belize which was signed in November 2019, we, the Embassy of Taiwan and the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Belize worked hand-in-hand to digitalize the radiology system at K.H.M.H. in Belize City. Today, we are pleased to hand over CR readers, radiology monitors and medical imaging systems called PACS, which stands for Picture Archiving and Communications System which is a computer system software that transfers and stores medical images.”
