A Pair of Dominican Immigrants is Busted with Fake Immigration Stamps.

A pair of immigrants from the Dominican Republic was busted by Ladyville police at a checkpoint on Tuesday with fake immigration stamps in their passports.  Forty-one-year-old Lewis Sanchez Arias and twenty-nine-year-old Gary Pimentel Arias have been jointly charged with one count each of using and uttering upon a permit that they are not entitled to use.  It is alleged that on September sixth, they presented visitors permits to immigration officer Dalia Mai dated September second that are scheduled to expire on October first, that they were not permitted to use. When they appeared before the magistrate’s court earlier today, both men were unrepresented and pleaded guilty. They were fined one thousand dollars which was to be paid forthwith or in default, six months in prison. The taxi driver who was transporting them, twenty-three-year-old Misael Salazar was read two counts of facilitating the commission of a crime.  He was imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of one thousand dollars on each count which he is to pay by December thirtieth.
