President of Rwanda to Make Historic Visit to Belize
Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, is scheduled to visit Belize from September fourteenth to the fifteenth. The visit will be historic as it will mark the first such visit to Belize by a head of state from Africa. According to a release from the Government of Belize, Prime Minister John Briceño engaged President Kagame in June, during the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting held in Kigali, Rwanda. The Government of Belize will confer the Order of Belize on President Kagame on September fourteenth, in recognition of visionary leadership which has brought about the transformation of Rwanda. On September fifteenth, the President of Rwanda will sign agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the countries. He will also address the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate at a joint special sitting, as well as students at the University of Belize.
